C2C the long way. West to East in 3 days
3-6 September 2019
Join us for a bucket list ticking trip cycling across the country from Bangor to Gorleston. This epic trip is fully supported and includes members only whatapp & strava groups, instore information evenings on training, nutrition, maintenance and cycle kit. Transport for you, your luggage & your bike, dinner, bed & breakfast (Premier Inn – your own room), refreshment and lunch stops along the way, mechanic and backup vehicle.
Limited to just 12 spaces.
£500 all in – deposit of £250 to be paid on booking.
Day 1 – Norwich to Bangor by minibus – evening meal and rider briefing.
Day 2 – Bangor to Shrewsbury 101 miles, 7899 ft elevation
Day 3 – Shrewsbury to Peterborough 113 miles, 4759 ft elevation
Day 4 – Peterborough to Gorleston 116 miles 3044 ft elevation
What We’d Recommend
Follow the training plan – it is important to build up to an event like this
Use Chamois cream – google it. You’ll be thankful we told you about it…
Eat ahead during the ride – you’ll need all the calories you can get so pack them away at every chance. If not, you’ll bonk – and not in a good way.
Stick to the energy drinks and gels you normally take – stomach upsets are not what you need on a long ride
Don’t change your shoes just before the ride. Riding 100+ miles for several days on the go will work your body hard enough. Riding 100 miles at a good pace means over 30,000 pedal strokes per day and changing the way your legs work (even in a small way) can impact the comfort if not done well which can give knee, lower back and other joint pain.
If you are having pain now, get a bike fit. They are worth the money (believe me).
Make sure your bike is in tip top condition.
Get a proper service a month or so before the event as (unless you do 2,000 miles per month) it will allow you to ride a few times afterwards and all the shiny, new stuff will bed in before we go.

Training Camp Weekends
Join us for a weekend’s training camp in the cycling playground of North Yorkshire. Rosedale Chimney, Buttertubs Pass, Langcliffe Scar to name but a few. Or cycle the Surrey Hills with us and climb Box Hill, Leith Hill & others. If you want to get off the beaten track, a MTB option takes in up to 80km of off-road riding – already mapped and marked.
